Property Photography - The Long Byre - Gloucestershire

Another property for sale, another beautiful barn conversion… this one in the pretty Cotswold village of Poulton, near Cirencester. Despite Poulton being fairly small, I think I've done eight shoots there in four years!

Luckily – and something which has been quite rare for my February shoots – it started off as a gorgeous day, and I was able to get all of the exterior shots done whilst the sun was shining.

Though it was great for the external photos, the bright, low winter sunshine led to some rather challenging interior kitchen shots. For the images below which look out onto the back garden, a fast shutter speed and lots of internal flash was needed, in order to remove the glare and shine of the exposure.

For the kitchen shots below, I shut the doors and flagged off any light coming into the room, so that I could create a much cleaner image.

Unfortunately, all traces of sunshine had disappeared by the time it came to photographing the master bedroom – even though the room should have benefited from some lovely late afternoon sun, pouring in through those expansive windows. So, out came the AD600 to replicate that light…

At the time of writing, this property, The Long Byre, is on for sale with Sharvell Property.
